Product Description
Tailwaters provide extraordinary year-round fishing, but you have to know how to fish them. The author covers how tailwaters work - how cold waters released from a dam affect the water, the aquatic life, and the fish. This book has it all: the hatches, the best imitation flies to use in every circumstance, nymphing and dry-fly tactics, all illustrated with drawings by artist Dave Hall and more than 200 color photographs.

I have followed Pat Dorsey for several years, reading every bit of information he published. I have gained much of my fly fishing skills from Pat. This book is absolutely the best of the more than 100 books I possess. Pat's knowledge is well respected and his passion for the sport is unsurpassed. This book is the culmination of Pat's many years of experience and the benefit of exposure to other significant individuals of knowledge.

It is filled with very helpful information on how to fish tailwaters and the flies that will bring the most success. I have read this book cover to cover and strongly recommend it to any fly fisherman who wants more information on fishing tailwaters.

3 out of 5 stars Book for west coast   March 19, 2010
Roger E. Charbonneau (Blue Ridge, GA)
I fish on tailwaters in the southeast so I was excited about getting this book. I find it to be a good book and well written with lots of good pics. However it is strictly for west coast tailwaters and even says so in book intro. Wish Amazon had said so in its ad for the book
