5 out of 5 stars He's a priest who can relate to REAL people   November 16, 2006

If you've ever had what some people call a "mountain top" experience like Christ Renews or Cursillo, then you will relate to many of these stories. Once your eyes are open to God's work in nature, the world is a whole new place.

Although I'm not a hunter (and don't aspire to be,) I do hike and camp, and was delighted to learn that other people see the world as I have in some of my favorite nature moments. I am also grateful to read about a healthy vocation, though he doesn't pretend it's easy.

While I was reading this book, I stopped many times to discuss something I had read...it also inspired many pages of journaling. This book gave me the vicarious thrill of being outside in nature, though it has been a couple of years since I last camped.

5 out of 5 stars Buy this for your MAN (big or little)   June 12, 2008

Women, read this book first (you'll get a lot out of it!) and then ask your father, husband, son, or friend to read it and share afterward what he thinks. You, too, can be an evangelist with this great book :) Don't forget to pray for Father and all priests!

5 out of 5 stars For everyone who enjoys the outdoors   December 1, 2009

Hunters and fishermen/women of all faiths would enjoy this book. As a woman who hunts and fishes, I was captivated by the honest storytelling. As an evangelical Christian, I really enjoyed how right-on and straightforward this book is about faith. Only problem was, I wanted to get out there, not just sit home and read about it!

I bought this as a gift for a young man who is deeply religious and an avid outdoorsman. He has thoroughly enjoyed the book.
