Outstanding pattern and reference book September 30, 2009 SomeGuyInPhoenix (Phoenix) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This book is filled with good pictures and the recipes to recreate all of the flys included. The book is spiral bound so it lays flat and is easy to read while working on the vice. The last fify pages or so is filled with fishing tips from the pros., good tips. It is obvious that the authors know their stuff and are talented tiers. This purchase is money well spent and I plan on giving a few as gifts. My only suggestion would be to include a bit of history and the geographics for each fly.
I wish all reference and tutorial type books would us spiral bindings, so much easier to work with!

Midges for all occasions November 24, 2009 Jerry Schureman This is the top-of-the-line word on tying and fishing midges. The number and variety of midge patterns shown and the instructions for tying different types of midges in very helpful and impressive. For me, though, one of the highlights of the book is the section describing personal experiences in tying, fishing and equipping oneself for successful midge fishing. And the photography is outstanding. An impressive book.
