In his twenty-one volume corpus of the Jack Aubrey/Stephen Maturin novels beginning with Master and Commander (Aubrey Maturin Series)and Post Captain (Aubrey Maturin Series), O'Brian was loathe to pause to translate eighteenth and nineteenth century shipboard speech for the landlubberly. Highly recommended!
